Cygames and Arc System Works are working on Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, a follow-up to the 2020 fighting game, Granblue Fantasy Versus.
It isn’t an entirely new game from the developers. Instead, consider it an enhanced version of the original with improved mechanics, new characters, and more. I’d consider this more of a revision of what the team said this weekend at Granblue Fantasy: Fes.
One of the big changes is the inclusion of Ultimate Skills, a mechanic the developers say is an “even more powerful version of Plus Skills.” We also learned there will be an all-new Story Mode with all chapters of Granblue Fantasy: Versus available. The developers also mentioned rollback netcode will be added to Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising and also crossplay from launch.
Arc System Works also revealed Grand Bruise Legends, a battle royale mode that will be available in-game.
