I can’t believe it’s already been a year since God of War launched on PlayStation 4.
Without a doubt, playing through what ended up becoming my Game of the Year for 2018, changed me. The emotional story of Kratos and his son, Atreus resonated with me in ways that few video games ever have. While I am not a father yet, I picked up on things my own father did, in Kratos.
Not only that, but people on social media are still talking about the experience. Also, Cory Barlog recently won a BAFTA for God of War – there’s a lot of love for what Sony Santa Monica created, and for good reason. There’s no experience quite like it on any platform.
Sony released a new video to celebrate the first anniversary of God of War. The video features members of the studio talking about their favourite moments in the game and series. It’s worth watching even if you aren’t particularly interested in the game.
In other news, God of War director Cory Barlog tweeted out about some one-year anniversary content coming as themes and avatars available for free. Then, he squashed out any rumours about potential downloadable content being available for the game.
