In a presentation from Sony Interactive President Jim Ryan, we learned 2018’s God of War, sold 10 million copies. This is to be expected as the soft-reboot was met with both critical and commercial acclaim and won Game of the Year across the board with many outlets, including ours.
The series has been a major powerhouse in sales, selling an estimated 3.1 million copies the first three days of launch. Up until the launch of Marvel’s Spider-Man on PlayStation 4, God of War held the record for the fastest selling first-party title in Sony’s history – selling 5 million copies within its first month.
