GLAAD – one of the world’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) media advocacy organization revealed their nominees for the 30th annual GLAAD Media Awards. This is exciting because it is the first time there’s been a gaming category included.
The organization posted a link about their video game nominations here.
Of note, is Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, a game that’s been hit with controversy in the past few weeks thanks to the inclusion of the second episode of The Legacy of the First Blade. In the second episode, your character is forced to reproduce to continue their lineage. A game that previously, provided players with unprecedented control over their characters actions as well as love life. Forcing the players into this relationship has caused an uproar within the community.
Since the news broke, Ubisoft has worked with GLAAD and together have improved portions of the DLC and will incorporate that into future episodes to prevent any more of this from happening. Ubisoft will patch the released episode to better reflect the changes recommended.

Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey (Ubisoft)
The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset (Bethesda Softworks)
