The Gex Trilogy is coming as part of today’s Limited Run Games Showcase.
The Gex games from the 1990s were a series of platforming adventure games starring the wisecracking gecko named Gex. Developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by various companies, including Crystal Dynamics, BMG Interactive, and Eidos Interactive, the Gex series became famous for its humorous and pop culture-filled gameplay.
The first game in the series, Gex, was released in 1995 for the 3DO console, followed by releases on other platforms like PlayStation, Sega Saturn, and PC. Gex, being TV-obsessed, is sucked into the Media Dimension, a world filled with TV-inspired levels. Then he would face challenges based on different genres where he would use his tail, crawling abilities and tongue to maneuver levels.
The first game’s success led to the release of sequels, including Gex: Enter the Gecko in 1998 and Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko in 1999. These games followed a similar formula, with Gex exploring new TV-themed worlds, engaging in platforming challenges, and delivering humorous dialogue.
Gex Trilogy is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, and PC.
