Fans of A Song of Fire and Ice are waiting on George R.R. Martin to finish his decades-long series, and the way the author’s schedule is at the moment, it will be a while longer until a conclusion is reached.
On Sunday, the final episode of Game of Thrones aired on HBO. Martin took to his official blog to talk about how his final two books would be different than the show and briefly spoke about what he was up to. Now, with confirmation from the author himself, we know he’s working on a video game as he recently traveled to Japan as a consultant.
YouTube channel Spawn Wave posted a video in March, seemingly confirming the news that mArtin was working a “Souls-like video game,” and developed by From Software. There would be an open world withseveral kingdoms and abilities to unlock.
Speaking to Gematsu, a source familar wth the project at From Software let it be known that internally the project is known as GR and will be shown off at this year’s E3. Anothe rumour swirling is the game is reportedly using Norse mythology as its backdrop, features horse riding and the full title is Great Rune.
Unfortunately, none of this is verified so take it with a grain of salt but the rumours certainly are exciting. We’ll learn more next month at E3 in Los Angeles.
