If you tune into the Game Awards this year, you’ll notice that trailers that are part of the award show will feature more gameplay and less sizzle reel all thanks going to No Man’s Sky, which was revealed in a similar manner and left many gamers disappointed in the final product.
Geoff Keighley spoke to Polygon and revealed that there will be some changes in how games are revealed at the award ceremony.
“I have thought about the story of No Man’s Sky a lot,” Keighley told Polygon in a recent interview. “Did we create this black hole of hype that the developers couldn’t pull themselves out of? Some of that was authored by me.
“There is a good moral of that story and it’s part of what I’m trying to address this year; to have developers be more transparent about the state of their game.”
The award ceremony will take place next month at the Microsoft Theater in LA.
