Revealed today, FuRyu‘s next game is Crymelight, a new game in the Dark Bishoujo Action series. Key developers include Naoki Hisaya, composer Sakuzyo, animator Riri Yamashita and character designer YOGISYA.
Crymelight follows the events of Crystar and Crymachina, and stars a young girl named Alice. She wakes up with no memories and sets out to the lowest layer of Purgatory to earn her Rebirth. Setting out from the Tea Party Hall, Alice takes on various enemies and learns of the sins she committed in the past.
FuRyu says Crymelight explores themes of confession, confronting sins and regrets, and emotional growth. Alice traverses between two realms: Wonderland, a prison where the souls of the dead are held, and The Tea Party, a sanctuary offering young girls burdened by their sins respite.
Combat mixes cards with action. Between stages, you collect Skill Cards in a poker-style build system, forming five cards. The stronger the poker combination, the more potent your hands become, making attacks far more powerful.
Players also switch between the World-Immersion Mode, which minimizes the UI, prioritizes certain visual effects, and uses a closer side camera. Action Mode pulls the camera back to a top-down perspective while keeping the critical UI visible. Clearing stages rewards players with skill cards that, when combined with Alice’s cards, multiply her strength in battle.
