Forza Horizon 5

Forza Horizon 5 Is Xbox Game Studios’ Biggest Launch

It isn’t a fluke Playground Games’ fifth entry in the Forza Horizon series is doing well, the game is the best racing game I’ve ever played and a game of the year contender.

On Tuesday, Forza Horizon 5 officially launched following an early access period for those who picked up the Premium Add-on.

On Twitter, Phil Spencer revealed Forza Horizon 5 had the largest launch day for an Xbox Game Studios title. Peak concurrent players were 3x higher than Forza Horizon 4.

Xbox has invested in infrastructure to be able to play your games almost anywhere from tablets to phones to televisions and it looks like that vision has begun paying off given how many people were in early access (it was close to two million people before Tuesday). For anyone who purchased the Premium Bundle for $55 CAD could begin playing on November 4 instead of November 9.

Forza Horizon 5 has been received well by critics and is currently tracking to be the best-selling game on Steam. On Metacritic, the game sits at a 92, receiving universal acclaim.

In my review of Forza Horizon 5, I said “Forza Horizon 5 is the biggest and best game in the series, moving players to the stunning landscapes of Mexico with limitless fun and adventures. It’s also the most accessible game in the series, never herding you into an event, instead, you are rewarded by exploring Mexico and there is no finer racing game or exclusive on Xbox.”
