Back at Summer Games Fest we got our first look at Fallen Leaf and Black Drakkar Games’ sci-fi psychological horror narrative game, Fort Solis and looks like both developers are sticking to that season as it has been announced the game will launch on PC sometime this summer with Dear Villager confirmed as the game’s publisher.
As a part of the announcement, the developer also released brand new screenshots which include the game’s environment and profiles of the main characters. Players who decide to pick up the game will be inserted on Mars into the boots of Jack Leary (played by Red Dead Redemption 2‘s Roger Clark) who is an engineer that is sent to look into a standard alarm investigation at a Mars mining base which will slowly turn into “the longest night of his life” as he finds out what happened to everyone on the base.
The game’s other cast includes medical officer Wyatt Taylor (played by The Last of Us‘ Troy Baker) and another main character role played by The Kingdom’s Julia Brown. Fort Solis is being developed in Unreal Engine 5 and is set to feature no HUD and promises the game’s experience will have “zero load times or camera cuts” alongside multiple endings.
An abandoned space station, and a missing crew, doesn't sound like a recipe for disaster at all, right? 😅😰

“We’re all fans of hard sci-fi and horror, so with Fort Solis, we wanted to create a tense, classic sci-fi tale that players are free to piece together at their own pace. To us, immersion was the key factor here, and we’re very proud of all the work our team and our collaborators have done in bringing Fort Solis to life. It’s such a fully realized, lived-in place, and we’re thrilled for everyone to discover it when it launches later this year,” Fallen Leaf game director, James Tinsdale said in a press release.
“Dear Villagers seeks to bring people new and engaging experiences, and Fort Solis is exactly that. We’re so happy to have partnered with Fallen Leaf, as Fort Solis offers such a unique mix of narrative-driven adventure, open-ended exploration, immersive sim interaction, and a chilling, ominous atmosphere. We love its vision and are confident you will too,” Dear Villagers head of publishing, Guillaume Jamet added.
Fort Solis is set to hit PC storefronts this summer, no word on if it’s coming to consoles but the developer says “they are working on it.”
