Forspoken Delayed to October

Luminous Productions and Square Enix have announced Forspoken, the upcoming new franchise which was set to launch this May, will now arrive on October 11, 2022.

“Our vision for this exciting new IP is to deliver a game world and hero that gamers across the globe will want to experience for years to come, so getting it right is extremely important for us,” Luminous Productions said on Twitter. “To that end, during the next few months, we will focus all of our efforts on polishing the game and can’t wait for you all to experience Frey’s journey this fall.”

Set to launch as PlayStation 5 and PC exclusive, Forspoken follows Frey Holland, a woman that comes from a rough upbringing in New York City before being transported to another world, Athia. Frey is portrayed by Ella Balinska, with the actress working with Luminous Productions to create the character together.

Originally being revealed in 2020, the team working on the project invited us to attend a hands-off preview last year. There were a lot of elements that left me excited but the game had a lot of polish needed to bring the game up to par with a lot of the titles launching today.
