Focus Entertainment is committing itself to be a leader in the field of helping acclaimed indie studios grow their creative abilities as they announce the acquisition of Ivry Sur Seine-based Leikir Studio.
Leikir is currently working hard on Metal Slug Tactics — an incredible-looking tactics-based title in the classic Metal Slug shooter franchise.
It’s fitting that the forthcoming game is a co-production with retro renegades, Dotemu, one of four other studios belonging to Focus Entertainment.
It would appear that creative growth is the objective here for agreeing to the acquisition as Leikir Studio Founder and President Aurelien Loos says in a company press release that “We are happy to join the Focus Group because it is an important step for the growth of our studio. This acquisition validates our multi-production strategy and will allow us to reach new qualitative and creative heights. This is great recognition for the work accomplished by our teams over the past several years.”
Focus Entertainment President Christophe Nobileau adds, “Following Deck13, StreumOn, Dotemu, and Douze-Dixièmes, it is with great pleasure that we welcome a fifth studio to the Focus Group. We are constantly looking for new talents capable of growing and supporting the ambitions of our Group, and Leikir Studio, headed by Aurelien Loos, is a choice acquisition to achieve this objective.”
