While being revealed earlier this year, Gearbox had nothing to show at E3. During today’s PlayStation Showcase, we got our first official look at the Borderland’s spin-off Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands.
Matt Cox spoke about the upcoming title over on the PlayStation Blog, stating that the team decided to go with Tiny Tina because this game could only exist inside the mind of one of the series’ best characters. I’m obliged to agree that this wouldn’t work with any of the other protagonists, and as Matt says, she “gave us the license to build a lot of wild ideas and explore crazy ways of bending the rules of traditional fantasy while mixing it with the classic.”
Join Tiny Tina in this fantastical and stylized game where you’ll take on the Dragon Lord. Gearbox says you’ll tackle a wide variety of monsters, from smack-talking skeletons to land-roaming sharks and massive bosses. Being a spin-off means you’ll mix and match weapons, including spells, guns and melee weapons. You can even create your own character and take three frees into battle in a four-player co-op.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands releases worldwide on March 25, 2022,
