Today we got our official first look at upcoming Destiny 2 from Bungie. What was previewed was Homecoming, the first mission of the story campaign, where Primus Ghaul has invaded The Tower.
To me, it looks almost the same, and less like a sequel and more like an expansion.
Being a sequel, expect new worlds to explore including Earth, Titan, Nessus, and Io. In addition, we learned of clan support integrated into the game which makes things like banners and Fireteams easier to put together.
Crucible returns, but now features four on four matches for each game mode, and will include a new mode called Countdown where each team needs to disarm six bombs to win.
If you were like me and hated having to jump to orbit to do anything, that’s no longer an issue as you can jump straight into the fray.
Another surprise is the PC version, which will include custom mapping, full keyboard and mouse controls, unlocked FPS and the usage of Blizzard.net – forgoing Steam altogether.
Destiny 2 launches on September 8, 2017, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, expect a beta later this year.
