“Do you know yourself? Are you sure?”
These are some of the simple, yet complicated questions that arise from FINIS, a game touted as a “psychological evaluation based on your choices.” The ambitious first-person puzzle game is just days away from release.
The team behind the game has some lofty goals and hopes to translate some impactful and meaningful gameplay and story: “FINIS transcends traditional gaming by seamlessly blending mind-bending puzzles with a profound psychological evaluation. Your choices and the colors you select will guide you on a unique journey of self-discovery as you navigate through a diverse array of captivating puzzles and multiverses.”
FINIS will feature 21 levels, 8 different paths throughout the adventure, and a promise of a “A one-of-a-kind blend of puzzle and psychological evaluation.”
The concept is based on the Lüscher color test. Created by psychiatrist Dr. Max Lüscher, it’s is known to help determine levels of stress, anxiety, and ability to communicate. According to their published work, Lüscher believed that sensory perception of colour is objective and universally shared by all, but that colour preferences are subjective.
FINIS releases on Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 on October 26th, and on Xbox consoles November 2nd.
