Earlier this week, we got our first glimpse at the newest class coming to Final Fantasy XIV – the Gunbreaker class. The next playable class will primarily use Gunblades, as seen in Final Fantasy VIII. Back in November at Final Fantasy XIV Fanfest in Las Vegas, Square teased the upcoming Shadowbringers expansion and hinted at the possibility of Gunblades and Viera as playable characters.
In Paria, Naoki Yoshida revealed all this to be true and brought a new expanded trailer to confirm the news.
Known as the Gunbreaker class, the job begins at level 60 in Gridinia but this isn’t final just yet. Gunbreakers are tanks and excel at melee combat.
There’s going to be a NieR: Automata tie-in raid, called YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse, and Yoko Taro and Yosuke Saito will be guest designers on this. I’m eager to see what these two think of for this raid.
Lastly, the expansion releases on July 2, 2019. Those who pre-ordered will get early access beginning on June 28.
