Final Fantasy VII Remake‘s game director Tetsuya Nomura has announced that in June Square Enix will reveal news regarding the second chapter of the remake project.
The news comes from a live stream for Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier, a battle royales for mobile devices.
“Next month we’re planning to publish information related to VII’s 25th anniversary,” said Nomura. “I wonder how far I’m allowed to share about it,” Nomura reveals. “Next month we will publish various things,” he confirmed.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy VII — a year in which several spin-offs have been announced and expand the scope of the universe. While we have very few details regarding the second entry of Final Fantasy VII Remake, we do know Naoki Hamaguchi will be leading the project, taking over for Tetsuya Nomura.
One of the few details we know is that this entry will take full advantage of the PlayStation 5 hardware allowing for more diverse and impressive scenarios and situations.
