Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis

Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis Gets Closed Beta This Year

While a lot of hype surrounding both Crisis Core—Final Fantasy VII—Reunion and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, a third project is currently in the works that might satisfy those not too happy with the trajectory of the Remake project. In between those massive announcements was a brief look at the upcoming mobile game that I think has a lot of potential.

Final Fantasy Ever Crisis was announced last year but had very little information to reveal (it still doesn’t if we’re being honest!) but today brought us a better look at the game and it seems to be an episodic take on Final Fantasy VII and the companion games that came before.

The trailer is interesting as it begins with a lot of familiar elements of the original Final Fantasy before diverging into Remake territory. From the looks of it, we’ll be seeing Crisis Core and Before Crisis in some capacity and also Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus.

The gameplay looks like an amalgamation of the original FF7 with the chibi character designs and the realistic designs of Remake. The battle system seems to be using Active Time Battle in some capacity.

Square Enix says the game will be free-to-play with in-app purchases being available for costumes and weapons. We’ll post more as news becomes available.
