Square Enix just announced that a demo for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is available for the Switch 2 and Xbox Series consoles.
The demo includes the first two chapters of the game through the end of Chapter 2, “A New Journey Begins,” for free. Progress carries over to the full game later this year, and the save data includes the Kupo Charm and Survival Set.
Square Enix says you need the demo data to receive the items and can’t create a full game save first; the items will be available, just not immediately. Any achievements earned during the demo will unlock once the full game launches.
In our review for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, we called it “incredible” And “dread waiting another four years for the finale. If Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth indicates what to expect going forward, then I believe in the vision. The ending will be divisive for many people, but it means as much to the developers as it does to fans, and because of that idea, I walk away content with where we left off.”
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth launches for Xbox Series and Switch 2 on June 3, 2026.
