It hasn’t been a month yet and we’re getting some new content next week for Far Cry 6, this time making you play as the villain. Ubisoft is kicking off a series of downloadable content by putting you in control of Vass, the antagonist of Far Cry 3, but you’ll need to pay for this content.
Earlier this year the Season Pass teased content focusing on Vaas, Pagan Min, and Joseph Seed the villains of Far Cry 3, Far Cry 4, and Far Cry 5, respectively — giving us the opportunity to play as them.
While details are vague right now, we do know the Vaas content will be a roguelite. Here is the official description, “Players will embody Vaas, the iconic villain from Far Cry 3 played by Michael Mando (Better Call Saul), who is reprising his role in a brand-new experience inspired by the roguelite genre. Starting with nothing more than a pistol to defend themselves, players will need to find new weapons and unlock power-ups to become stronger and progress deeper into the depths of Vaas’ psyche. Blending intense action and storytelling, Vaas: Insanity will provide a unique opportunity to better understand Vaas’ past, personal demons, and motivations.”
I’m not sure how well this content will play out but because I loved Mando’s performance I am willing to see how we can better understand Vaas’s past through his content. After all, Vaas is one of the most popular villains the series has seen and I’m curious to see how things play out the second time around.
Far Cry 6: Vaas: Insanity launches on November 16, 2022.
