Well, it’s sounding like the second half of Fantasian is almost done according to Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi.
Fantasian serves as Sakaguchi’s return to the turn-based RPG genre which was exclusively released on Apple Arcade back in April. When it first came out it was made very clear by Sakaguchi that the initial release served as the first part of a two-part adventure.
So that begs the question, how is development going with the second part? Well, Sakaguchi answered with a simple statement that read: “The second part of Fantasian is almost done.”
He goes into a little bit more detail in a statement on Famitsu that reveals that the second part is exceeding expectations and will be twice as large as the first part.
The game is currently being developed by Mistwalker and features a new soundtrack from Sakaguchi’s long-time collaborator, Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu.
During a recent VGC interview, Sakaguchi revealed that Fantasian might be the last project he’ll work on. The same could also be said for Uematsu as far as working on a full soundtrack for games but a lot remains to be seen at this point.
