Playground Games’ Fable is officially launching on February 23. 2027.
During the Xbox Games Showcase, it was revealed that Hayley Atwell is joining the cast as Isabel, the main antagonist in Fable.
“Isabel is a driven, powerful Hero on a quest to make right a tragic injustice. Driven by grief, Isabel has turned her pain into determination and focus that sets her at odds with The Hero of Briar Hill and Humphry, her one-time guardian. Isabel’s conviction that she’s not just doing the right thing, but she’ll be able to make right any harm she causes along the way makes her a powerful, dangerous enemy,” Fable Associate Narrative Director Craig Owens reveals.
Hayley was cast for her ability to blend vulnerability and strength, making her the perfect person to play Isabel.
Joining Atwell are Lily Nichol and Ukweli Roach, playing the Hero of Briar Hill. The pair were cast because they had the range and natural charisma needed to be the Hero.
Your character is the first Hero in a generation, and you can customize their appearance, wield ranged and melee weapons and take on an assortment of monsters, including Hobbes, Balverines, Trolls, and chickens.
The world outside of combat is vibrant, too. In Albion, your reputation matters as you build an empire. You can be a landlord or blacksmith, romance villagers, have kids, and watch your reputation grow into legend. Completing noble deeds or engaging in questionable actions affects how people see you.
Fable launches for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC on February 23, 2027.
