Matthew McConaughey Shows Off New Game Exodus At The Game Awards

Archetype Entertainment Sets Off To Space

Matthew McConaughey made his The Game Awards debut to talk about Exodus, developed by Archetype Entertainment. The cinematic trailer showed off multiple characters in space, with plenty of space battles and drama to dive into. McConaughey will play the lead character, The Traveler. Time seems to play an important role in the game’s story as players will journey across alien planets while dealing with the effects of Time Dilation as things may not be the same when you return back to where you started.

The studio was founded in 2020 as part of Wizards of the Coast and is led by ex-BioWare developers.

“In Exodus, humanity has fled a dying Earth, finding a new home in a hostile galaxy – here, we are the underdogs fighting for survival. As The Traveler, you are humanity’s last hope. Your job is to steal alien weapons and technology from the most powerful beings in the universe, the Celestials – humanity’s greatest enemy. But there’s a catch — Time Dilation. As Travelers on interstellar missions, days for you are decades back home. The sacrifices you make to protect your loved ones create unpredictable consequences that change your world — reshaping the future. Returning home, you confront the consequences of your choices. In Exodus, the outcome of those choices manifests at a massive level, compounding over generations.”

No release window was given, but the game will be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.
