Geoff Keighley returns this year with Gamescom: Opening Night Live 2021. Featuring Call of Duty: Vanguard, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, Death Stranding: Director’s Cut, Far Cry 6, Saints Row, TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge, SIFU, Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania, and more TBA!
In total, we saw over 40 games today from big-budget games to games made by single developers. Hopefully, next year will be the first time we see each other in person.
The hour kicked off with a new game premiere and it looked pretty stylish by the trailer. If you guessed Saints Row then you were right whether or not the series needed to be rebooted is a whole other discussion but we’re getting a new entry with what looks like a new cast.
Saints Row
The reboot is set to launch on February 25, 2022, with Volition developing, and you can pre-order now. Geoff had a gameplay snipper to show players but it wasn’t necessarily anything worthwhile as it was more of a sizzle reel.
As the future Boss, with Neenah, Kevin, and Eli by your side, you’ll form The Saints – and take on Los Panteros, The Idols, and Marshall as you build your empire across the streets of Santo Ileso and battle for control of the city. Ultimately Saints Row is the story of a start-up company, it’s just that the business The Saints are in happens to be crime.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns
Next, we had a new Marvel game from 2K called Midnight Suns and it is launching in March 2022. On stage was Jake Solomon from developer Firaxis. In the trailer, we saw a ton of familiar Marvel characters including Wolverine, Iron Man, Blade, Ghost Rider and more. The studio also created a new character for the game with the help of Marvel. We’re getting gameplay reveal on September 1, 2021.
When Hell awakens, only they can stop it. Rise and join a darker order of heroes to defeat Lilith before the Darkhold is complete in this tactical RPG set in the darker side of the Marvel Universe.
Call of Duty: Vanguard
Call of Duty: Vanguard takes players into the origins of Special Forces in the most connected Call of Duty experience across the franchise. Experience World War II through the eyes of a multinational group of soldiers, who form Task Force One in the campaign’s gripping narrative while also becoming the original Special Forces operators in the game’s adrenaline-fueled Multiplayer.
This weekend there be a PlayStation alpha test featuring the king of the Hill mode. Joining Geoff on stage was Laura Baily and Dave Swanson to explain the campaign and critical women were to the war. We’ll explore several important stages of World War II. It needs to be noted that Console Creatures not covering the promotion of games made by Activision Blizzard after abhorrent allegations made against the publisher.
Halo Infinite
Geoff Keighley was joined by Joeseph Staten on Opening Night Live to reveal the official release date for Halo: Infinite: December 8, 2021. It’ll launch the campaign and free-to-play multiplayer. In addition, 343 Industries announced a special edition of the Xbox Elite Wireless 2 controller branded with a Halo design and also a limited edition Halo Xbox Series X.
Midnight Fight Express
Fight your way across the city in a brutal romp that mixes old-school brawlers and fast-paced motion-captured combat. Battle across multiple, distinct hand-crafted levels on foot or a variety of vehicles.
Developed by Jacob Dzwinel and published by Humble Games, Midnight Fight Express will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge
April O’Neill was revealed to be a playable character. Sporting her iconic yellow jumpsuit and trusty reporting gear, April unleashes flurries of hits against the Foot Clan’s devious soldiers via new gameplay. Her agility and far-reaching slide kicks help her close in on targets quickly, and she once again proves the turtles can rely on her unwavering support, even through slices of pizza.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is due out for Switch and PC in 2022.
Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania
Morgana from Persona 5 will be joining the Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania roster says Sega. He will launch on November 2 for $4.99 US.
Splitgate
Splitgate Season 0 is now available after being revealed on Opening Night Live today. The surprise launch of Season 0 comes just weeks after the game’s queue to play the game was at a minimum of 90 minutes. Today, players will be able to play a new map and mode to celebrate Season 0 kicking off!
Players joining will be able to unlock both free and premium challenges that unlock throughout the season, as well as the latest map, Karman Station. With a sprawling and exposed center, the map also features an outer sniper tower which serves the controlling team by helping to track enemy movements. But be careful, teamwork is necessary to overtake objectives in adjacent corridors and rooms.
In addition, there’s a new mode, Contamination Mode, the contaminated player equips only a melee weapon and contaminates as many other players as possible by killing them, ending the round when all other players become infected. Players who become contaminated then spawn and switch sides, garnering points for contaminating as many players as they can. Uninfected players equip a shotgun and earn points by killing as many contaminated players as they can, so there are multiple ways to rack up points in this action-packed thrilling mode.
Riders Republic
The Riders Republic has an open beta starting today until August 28 and is available on consoles and PC. Riders Republic launches this Fall on October 28, 2021.
The Riders Republic Beta will give players a first glimpse of three careers such as Bike Races, Snow Tricks and Air Sports (Rocketwing and Wingsuit). Players will also be able to compete in multiplayer modes that will unlock throughout the Beta including Mass Races, Versus Mode, and Tricks Battle. On August 27, Fre for All opens for beta players and up to 11 players can cycle through a list of events.
Century: Age of Ashes
A quick sizzle reel reveals a release date of November 18, 2021. The free-to-play Century: Age of Ashes will launch for PC and console ports will likely arrive later. Century: Age of Ashes tasks you with customizing your dragon and then taking them into battle to become a legendary dragoneer.
The game features two game modes at launch: Carnage, a six vs six killing spree with special power-ups appearing all over the map. It’s basically Team Deathmatch. The other mode is Gates of Fire where two teams clash over possession of a flag and you gain points by flying through gates around the arena while holding the flag.
UFL
A new football simulation game called UFL was announced.“UFL is a global online football league where only your skills matter,” Strikerz said at ONL 2021. “Join the revolution changing the world of football simulation forever today.”

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
After being out of the spotlight for nearly a year, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga made its reappearance during Opening Night Live.
For the first time in a Lego video game, explore the galaxy your way as you fly to some of the saga’s most legendary locales. You can start your journey with Star Wars: The Phantom Menace for some podracing on Tatooine. Or choose to launch right into Rey’s adventures in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Players have the freedom to seamlessly travel to any planet, in any order, at any time.
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will launch in Spring 2022.
Synced: Off-Planet
Publisher Proxima Beta and developer NExT Studios released a story trailer for SYNCED: Off-Planet. Described as a companion shooter set in a techno-apocalyptic world, you will sync with your Nano companion and fight against enemy teams. Together you will upgrade your weapons, strengthen your team and uncover what happened to humanity.
SYNCED: Off-Planet is set to launch on PC in 2022.
The Outlast Trials
Set in the height of the Cold War era, players take on the role of test subjects abducted by the shadowy Murkoff Corporation. Imprisoned in a secret Murkoff facility, players will be thrust into a series of physical and mental ordeals, tormented by iconic characters, and challenged alone or in teams to survive with their sanity intact.
Red Barrels Games has The Outlast Trials from its previously planned 2021 release window to 2022.
DokeV
It looks like glitter exploded all over everything but DokeV was revealed and it is basically one of the weirdest games I’ve seen in ages. It’s a creature-collecting open-world MMO set within a vibrant world created by developer Pearl Abyss.
In a world where humans and Dokebi live side by side, the upcoming creature collection action-adventure game is filled with intriguing stories and people. Dokebi is whimsical creatures that live side-by-side with humans and encourage people’s dreams from which they gain strength. Jurassic World Evolution 2
Revealed during Opening Night Live, Jurassic World Evolution 2 launches on November 9, 2021.

It introduces a compelling, new narrative campaign, incredible new features, and awe-inspiring new dinosaurs brought to life with captivating authenticity. Far Cry 6
Today at Gamescom Opening Night Live, Far Cry 6 debuted a new Story Trailer featuring an in-depth look at dictator Antón Castillo’s (Giancarlo Esposito) grip on Yara, the tropical island setting of the game, and the guerrilla uprising challenging his vision.
Anton Castillo rose to power on the promise of restoring the once-prosperous island nation of Yara to its former glory and plans to forge his vision of paradise by any means necessary. With his 13-year-old son Diego reluctantly following in his father’s bloody footsteps, Antón has the future of Yara clenched tightly in his hands.
Vampire: The Masquerade –Blood Hunt
For centuries, vampires have lived and thrived among humans, maintaining The Masquerade. Now a treacherous betrayal has stirred a war amongst the vampire sects, exposing them to the secret society known as The Entity. With a holy mission to annihilate all vampires, they take the hunt to the streets of Prague.
Players will need to use their supernatural powers, weapons, and wit to survive the night and restore the masquerade.

Bandai Namco and developer Limbic Entertainment have announced a new theme park management: Park Beyond which will launch in 2022.

Sword & Sworcery co-creator Superbrothers A/V Inc. and Pine Scented Software Ltd. premiered a new trailer today during Opening Night Live.

Adams at Superbrothers A/V and I met,” said Patrick McAllister of Pine Scented Software Ltd in a new PlayStation Blog post, where he shares a bit more on JETT’s origins. ”We hope our project resonates with you, and if it does, please consider embarking with us!”

Horizon Forbidden West
Mathijs de Jonge joined Geoff Keighley tonight on Opening Night Live and confirmed that Horizon Forbidden West will launch on February 18, 2022. Horizon Zero Dawn also got a new 60 FPS patch on PlayStation 5. Pre-orders will begin next week, on September 2.

An Open Beta is happening September 9 – 12 before the full game launches on September 28, 2021, Amazon Games announced at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live on Wednesday.

While details are scarce, we do know that Hearth and Home will include a new food system, updates to the blocking and staggering mechanics, new ways to display your items, new recipes and more.
Sifu
Sifu tells the story of a young Kung Fu student who was wronged and now walks a path of revenge. On the hunt for those who killed his family, he will battle against the odds and rely on his skills to prevail. You’ll explore an entire city taking on gangs, fighting back against corporations and anyone who stands in your way.
By positioning yourself in battle, you can use the environment to your advantage and use everything to win including throwable objects, makeshift weapons, windows and ledges.
Sifu will launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC on February 22, 2022.
Death Stranding Director’s Cut
Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Kojima Productions have released a nine-minute preview trailer for next month’s Death Stranding Director’s Cut.
Adding in advanced combat mechanics, more character actions, a competitive ranking system for challenges and the ability to play at 4K and 60 frames per second. The Director’s Cut includes updated DualSense implementation, utilizing environment effects to get close to the world. There is also Tempest 3D Audio for headphones and fast loading on PlayStation 5.
Today’s trailer at the end of Opening Night Live featured a look at the new stabilizers for Sam’s suit. The jets on the suits allow Sam to hover in mid-air and is a great way to shake up the gameplay. You can also catapult packages to make deliveries easier and if you feel like handing off packages, a new robotic assistant will carry your packages and even carry you.
If you want to take your motorcycle through some new ramps, Sam can even perform tricks when going over speed ramps. If you prefer to do some timed challenges, you can do that too against recorded ghosts of other players.
Death Stranding Director’s Cut is coming exclusively to PlayStation 5 and launches on September 24.
