We’ve seen what Summer Game Fest held, what the teams over at Xbox, Bethesda, and around the world are working on over the next twelve months, and now it is time for Capcom to deliver their showcase.
Today is Capcom’s time to shine and we know we’re getting a new look at the Resident Evil 4 Remake, Street Fighter 6, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak and more.
Let’s dive into today’s event!
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak
We got a new trailer for this month’s Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak expansion arriving on June 30 and featuring one of the largest expansions ever. In Sunreak, the Jungle area returns to the series and has been updated the Jungle with new devastated ruins. Espinas means thorns in Spanish, so this new monster will be full of spikes – you’ll need to be careful when this monster goes on a rampage.
Monster Hunter 4 had Gore Magala as one of the most important monsters in the game, and it will return for Sunbreak. Daimyo Hermitar and Pyre Rakna-Kadaki will add explosive elements in battle.
Capcom has released a demo for Sunbreak with tons of features available to try before the game launches. It’ll be available on June 14, 2022, on Switch and Steam features the Jungle locale, and the new Skill Switch system and monsters to slay.
A free title update in August will add the Lucent Nargacuga and also the iconic Forlorn Arena. More monsters are coming in Fall 2022, the third comes in Winter 2022 and beyond.
Exoprimal
Takuro Hiraoka is the director of Exoprimal and today he brought with him a new trailer for the upcoming game. We got a new look at the game’s mechanics but we also got a look at a Raptor Horde – you read that right. The Aibius Corporation developed the Leviathan AI – appearing as a human-like figure that unleashes dinosaurs against humanity.
You’ll take on war games and take on various dinosaurs while trying to learn why Leviathan is releasing these creatures into the world. You’ll be jumping from mission to mission including VTOL Defense, Date Key Survival, and more.
We also got a glimpse of a strange creature called the Neo Tyrannosaurus Rex, Dimo Survival gameplay changes each time you play and earns rewards and experience points each time you play.
We saw two exosuits today -these include VTOL Defense, where squads defend downed aircraft from dinosaur onslaughts, and Omega Charge, which introduces a massive hammer that Exofighters will wield to obliterate targets. The video also unveiled two new Assault class Exosuits that are absolutely armed to the teeth. Barrage, a burning bombardier, and the rail gun-wielding sniper Vigilant join a growing armoury of futuristic suits that teams can swap between on-the-fly to coordinate and overcome any challenge.
The team-based action game will launch in 2023. A Closed Network test will be held for players to test the game out before launch.
Dragon’s Dogma
The series has recently celebrated its 10th anniversary and Hideaki Itsuno was on-hand to discuss the festivities. An event is happening on June 16, at 6 PM ET.
Resident Evil
We saw our first world premiere, which led to the reveal of Resident Evil Village: Shadows of Rose, a story-based expansion and follow-up of last year’s Village. New Mercenaries content is coming and a third-person mode for Village. Mercenaries come with additional orders, playable Chris Redfield, Heisenberg, and Lady Dimitrescu.
The package will launch as Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition. Furthermore, Resident Evil Re: Verse will launch on October 28, 2022.
The big reveal was the playable story expansion Shadows of Rose. A being named Michael speaks to Rose and could be the key to removing her powers. The expansion will be in the third person and is scheduled to launch on October 28, 2022.
Next, we saw Resident Evil 4 Remake joining the Capcom Showcase with the trailer shown last week.
The team is trying to keep what made the original special and is set six years after Resident Evil 2. Leon has been recruited by the President and serves him as an agent. The Ganado has been completely redesigned for the remake with the over-the-shoulder camera returning. We’ll get more information later.
Resident Evil 4 Remake will launch on March 24, 2023.
Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil VII have been given next-gen updates and are available today. Features include 4K, Ray Tracing, 3D Audio, high framerate, and more. You can now play these games on your PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. The upgrade will be available for free.
