Everything Revealed During the ID@Xbox August Showcase

Xbox held another ID@Xbox showcase today that featured lots of indie titles coming to the platform well into next year.

Partnering with Twitch, the second twitchgaming Showcase: ID@Xbox where fans saw the work of a ton of independent developers.  Xbox said that we’d see new games from developers and publishers like Rebellion, Chump Squad, and others but also receive updates on The Artful Escape, Ollie Ollie World, Library of Ruina, and RPG Time.

Lightyear Frontier

To kick things off a brief trailer for Lightyear Frontier revealed a colourful little game with mechs. It is currently in development over at Frame Break with help from Amplifier Game Invest. Described as an open-world farming exploration title, 1-4 players can craft, discover and grow alien plants, domesticate wildlife and build a new home.

The Wandering Village

From developer Stray Fawn comes The Wandering Village. In a world where mysterious toxic spores are contaminating the planet, a group of people seeks shelter on the back of a giant, wandering creature. Become their leader, build their settlement and form a symbiotic relationship with the creature to survive together in this hostile, yet beautiful world. The Wandering Village is coming to Xbox and the city-sim builder has a neat twist on the genre.

Lab Rat

Described as a hand-crafted narrative puzzler title, Lab Rat is from Chump Squad and is coming to Xbox in 2022. With an obsessive AI watching your every move, you will need to work to finish over 100 puzzles.

RPG TIME: The Legend of Wright

I know if you were watching you felt the Dragon Quest vibes given by the music in RPG TIME: The Legend of Wright. Described as a handmade epic RPG about a young person wishing to become a game developer, we explore his notebook full of sketches including heroes and villains and the world his imagination has created. It is currently in development over at DeskWorks and is coming out this Winter.

Inked: A Tale of Love

From Somnium Games and publisher Pixmain comes Inked: A Tale of Love. It is described as a narrative-driven puzzle game set in a world of beautiful ballpoint pen-drawn landscapes. You play as a nameless hero who must solve puzzles while searching for Aiko, your love interest. Inked: A Tale of Love arrives on August 27.

Aeon Drive

Developed by 2Awesome Studio and published by Critical Reflex, Aeon Drive is coming to Xbox. Set within Neo-Barcelona, the game is described as an action-platformer with a focus on speedrunning. Playing either solo or up to four players in co-op, together you can sprint and dash across the neon-infused city.

Starring Jackelyne, a young space ranger from another dimension. Desperately trying to get home, she crash-lands her spaceship into the middle of a bustling metropolis, Neo Barcelona. With the power sword, teleportation dagger and unique skill to control time, Jackelyne has to find all the Drive Cores to fix her ship – and save the city from impending doom. Aeon Drive arrives this Fall on Xbox.

The Big Con

Dave Proctor joined the ID@Xbox Showcase to reveal some of the voice talent joining The Big Con. Proctor revealed that protagonist Ally will be voiced by Erika Ishii, Dave Fenoy will be playing Rad Ghost. Developer Mighty Yell and publisher Skybound Games let everyone watching know the game is set to launch on August 31 and is available for pre-order.

Sam & Max: Save The World Remastered

This new version of Sam & Max‘s first season comes with enhanced graphics, new music, and the same goofy sitcom story from 2006 that sees the Freelance Police following a simple vandalism case that leads to a far more sinister plan.

Aragami 2, Pupperazzi,  and Evil Genius 2

Three games are coming to Xbox Game Pass beginning in September and right up until Q4 2021. Aragami 2 launches on September 17, Pupperazzi is undated, and Evil Genius 2: World Domination is set to launch later this year.

Pupperazzi is coming to Xbox from Kitfox Games and a bunch of dogs need their photos taken. It’s up to you to photograph, pet, and play with each dogs while taking their photos.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

Owlcat Games and META Publishing revealed a new trailer for Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous today featuring the main villain reveal and companion cast players can recruit. Pathfinder launched a successful Kickstarter earning over $2 million, and while the PC version is launching on September 2, 2021, consoles need to wait until March 1, 2022.

Stardew Valley

From Eric Barone and Concerned Ape, Stardew Valley is coming to Xbox Game Pass sometime this fall. Having launched in 2016 to success, the game has become a massive hit with sales hitting 10 million copies in 2020.

Library Of Ruina

Confirmed during the ID@Xbox Twitch showcase today, Library of Ruina is available on Xbox Game Pass today. On Steam, the game’s reception is “Overwhelmingly Positive,” and has been doing well on PC.

Become the owner of the Library & receive your guests. Your librarians will fight for the Library. Combat between the guests & the librarians breaks out as if it were on a stage. Defeated guests turn into books and the Library grows onward.
