Embracer Shutters Insurgency Developer New World Interactive

In yet the latest mismanagement from one of the worst publishers since the original THQ, Embracer Group continues to showcase how inept the executives are at their jobs.

This week, New World Interactive, the studio behind the Insurgency series, is shuttered. Nick Calandra was the first to break the news about the studio, saying the developers were told this morning.

New World Interactive has worked on Insurgency, Day of Infamy and Insurgency: Sandstorm. Embracer Group purchased the developer in 2020. The studio was then made a subsidiary of Saber Interactive.

On LinkedIn, former employees confirmed the layoffs.

Due to recent game closure, I am now looking for another great position, New World Interactive was one of the most amazing places to work, with the most amazing people I have ever worked with,” said Frederick Fowles, a real-time character developer.
