A&R Atelier revealed that Ecco the Dolphin is officially in development. In addition to new entries, there are remasters in the works, as well.
“It has been years in the making and we’re honored to bring Ecco back,” said Ed Annunziata, Chief Creative Officer of A&R Atelier. “Ecco has always been more than a game about a dolphin—he’s a bridge between worlds.”
A&R Atelier didn’t provide any specific details about the work it’s doing on the upcoming Ecco the Dolphin series, but noted that several projects and partnerships are in the mix.
Ecco the Dolphin and Ecco: The Tides of Time remasters are set to arrive this year.
You play as Ecco, a bottlenose dolphin, suddenly separated from his pod by a mysterious storm. As Ecco searches the seas for his missing family, he uncovers a far-reaching threat that endangers all life on Earth. With a blend of environmental storytelling, challenging gameplay, and haunting music, Ecco the Dolphin combines science fiction with marine exploration.
Fans are asked to join the Ecco the Dolphin Discord server, where they can connect with developers and keep up to date with the series.
