Dyson Pure Humidify+Cool and Dyson V11 Outsize are now both available in Canada. Dyson has announced its latest innovation offerings for consumers looking to improve their households.
In 2020, we’ve all been spending more time indoors. No thanks to the global pandemic, consumers across the globe have become more aware of the importance of maintaining a clean living environment. 33% of more Canadians are now aware of indoor air quality, according to Dyson’s studies. Coinciding with that, having available options to clean the air we breathe while indoors has become a necessity. That’s where Dyson Pure Humidify+Cool and Dyson V11 Outsize come in.
The Dyson Pure Humidify+Cool is the next evolutionary step from the company’s air treatment line of products. It is a three-in-one device, engineered to purify and hygienically humidify the air around us at home. The Dyson Pure Humidify+Cool features a new column in the water tank that supports a single powered UV light purposed to kill 99.9% waterborne bacteria in its first pass. The purification range, which has been a cornerstone of previous Dyson purifiers, uses a HEPA filter to capture 99.97% of air pollutants as small as 0.3 microns. The HEPA filter can filter out most mould, allergens, VOCs, etc.
A feature new to the Dyson Pure line is the airflow modes. The Dyson Pure Humidify+Cool has three modes available. The first is the ‘Breeze mode’ replicates the cool, refreshing airflow of the outdoor breeze and brings it into your living space. Associate Principal Research Engineer Tim Jukes and his team devised an algorithm to mimic natural airflow patterns for this unique mode. ‘Fan mode’ delivers constant front forward airflow as the baffle stays in place. The machine also has the ability to oscillate 45 or 90 degrees. While using the ‘Backwards Airflow mode’, the Jet Axis Control barrels rotate to close, causing the air to be diverted through the rear of the Air Amplifier. This mode purifies and humidifies the air without the cooling.
Dyson has taken a new look into how to streamline the cleaning efforts needed for the Dyson Pure Humidify+Cool. This time around, the device includes an easy-to-use deep clean cycle that cleans all parts of the machine exposed to water. The device will notify users when a cleaning cycle should be conducted via its LED screen. All users must do is place the 3D Air-mesh evaporator into the water tank with a packet of the citric acid powder and let the machine do the rest. Dyson recommends users to clean the device once per month.
The Dyson Pure Humidify+Cool offers additional features such as a sleep timer, which users can set between 30 minutes to eight-hour intervals. The device also comes with a handy magnetic remote to control the unit and is compatible with the Dyson Link app on iOS and Android, which can track indoor pollutants. Additionally, the device offers a ‘Nighttime mode’, which can monitor and purify the air with a dimmed display and quiet settings as to not disturb the household.
Dyson’s Pure Humidy+Cool is available in white/silver and black/nickel and can be purchased online and at Dyson Demo stores located Dyson Demo stores at Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre the Pacific Centre in Vancouver for $999.99 CAD.
Moving our attention to the V11 Outsize, Dyson’s cordless vacuum line just got a little better. Building off the innovations seen in the V11 Absolute, the V11 Outsize has a 25% larger cleaning head with a 150% larger bin. The V11 Outsize is running off the Dyson Hyperdymium motor, spinning up to 125,000rpm. Compared to its predecessors, the V11 Outsize’s suction has been increased by 20%. Additionally, the turbulence and noise have been reduced thanks to the triple diffuser technology.
The V11 Outsize comes with two swappable battery packs, each with seven larger, high-capacity cells with nickel-cobalt-aluminum cathodes. Together, the battery packs assist in delivering more suction power while extending the cleaner’s run time to 120 minutes. Plus, having a bin capacity of 1.9 litres helps reduce the interruptions users may experience when cleaning.
The larger cleaning head now measures to 12.5-inches in width to cover more ground when cleaning hardwood, carpets, and tiles. While on the topic of different floorings, the V11 Output supports a Dynamic Load Sensor which detects brush bar resistance and calibrates the motor and batteries’ microprocessors according to the surface it detects. The High Torque cleaner head can deep clean carpets to remove ground-in dirt, hair, with the nylon bristles. The integrated digital motor spins the brush bar up to 60 times per second, capturing dust from hard floors and crevices.
Circling back to providing households with cleaner air, something that Dyson has been obsessed with for years, the V11 Outsize has a fully sealed filtration system. It is capable of capturing 99.99% of particles as small as 0.3 microns, expelling cleaner air in the home.
Of course, as expected, the V11 Outsize has an LED screen to notify users of current performance, navigate through the settings and different modes. The screen will also inform users if there is a blockage and how to fix the issue. Most importantly, it will also highlight when to change the filter in order to get the best performance for the device.
As with the Pure Humidify+Cool, the V11 Outsize is available online and at Dyson Demo locations. The device retails at $1099.99 CAD
