Dying Light 2 Stay Humanis proving that it can back up its bite! The game has already gone gold ahead of its February 4, 2022 release date.
Polish game developer Techland says that they reached the requisite completion status to be referred to as gold over the weekend. And now that there’s nothing left to do in terms of making the product playable, the studio will spend the remaining two months — minus a break for the Holidays — optimizing the game, polishing graphics and audio and implementing some interesting suggestions collected from the media and Dying Light community that resulted from recent hand-on previews.
“We are very excited about this, and now we can truly feel that this is actually happening! After so many years of hard work, we are proudly looking forward to the release of Dying Light 2 Stay Human,” says Tymon Smektała, Lead Game Designer. But excitement and a holiday season underway in some cases doesn’t mean the team is going to slow down all that much. Smektala also comments that “The fact that the game is done and we hit the gold status two months before the release is a great sign, but it doesn’t mean that our work ends here. There are still some upgrades and tweaks to add and community feedback to implement, but the base is solid and ready to play. I’m extremely proud of the whole team!”
In case you missed the invitation last week, the team is hosting 15 minutes of gameplay on their Twitch channel this week as part of their fifth episode in the Dying 2 Know developer update series on Thursday at 9:00 p.m. ET. Jonah Scott, voice actor for lead character Aiden, will be the voice for the gameplay demo.
