Kingdom Hearts-like Duskfade Launches on August 13

During today’s Future Games Show, publisher Fireshine Games and developer Weird Beluga revealed in a trailer its upcoming game, Duskfade will launch for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and its newly announced platform Nintendo Switch 2 on August 13th, according to a press release.

Described as a coming-of-age story and love letter to PS2 platformers like Jak & Daxter, Kingdom Hearts, and Rachet & Clank, Duskfade puts players in the shoes of the game’s hero Zirian whose world is plunged into a dark, eternal night with his sister trapped in mysterious Clock Tower. Armed with a clock hand-like blade, Zirian alongside his his mechanical companion Cuckoo must find a way to free his sister from despair and her cage as the duo explore the darkness infested lands and along the way discover the ancient secrets of the Master Clockmakers.

“From ethereal forests and underwater realms, to the sun-scorched dunes and lands above the clouds, there’s always a new vista begging to be explored. Zirian will learn to slash, grind, jump and grapple through breathtaking environments that call back to the classic platformers of the past. Each stage provides unique challenges that blend precision platforming and action combat, as well as rewarding exploration that encourages uncovering hidden secrets off the beaten path,” a description of the game writes in a pres release.

Players looking to give Duskfade a try before its August launch can play the demo on Steam or for the first time, on PS5 by downloading through the PlayStation Store.
