Publisher Fireshine Games and developer Weird Beluga Studio have been promising us that their upcoming 3D action-platformer, Duskfade, due out later this year, is an honest and modern callback to the PlayStation-era gems that many of us gamers — this writer included — came to life with.
Mixing themes and ideas from the likes of Jak and Daxter, Ratchet & Clank, and Kingdom Hearts, Duskfade is a love letter to an era of games where stories were as large as they were nonsensical, and gameplay loops were just different enough to keep interests glued to the TV. However, Weird Beluga Studio wants us all to know that its game is tuned for more modern sensibilities — offering things like better camera controls and platforming without slide and input delays.
