Curve Games and Microbird are working on Dungeons of Hinterberg, a single-player action RPG mixed with a social sim set in the Austrian Alps. This title stood out during the Xbox Games Showcase on Sunday and should be on your radar, too.
Set in the small Austrian village of Hinterberg that serves as both a tourist sport and a place filled with magical dungeons full of mystical ALpine monsters, adventurers from around the world come to enter the Dungeon Challenge. Here you’ll find epic loot and hang out at Hinterberg’s famous apres-slay bar. Players can explore dungeons, solve puzzles, slay huge bosses – then have a Schnitzel with the locals and other slayers from around the globe. Building deep relationships can unlock special abilities and give players key items, helping them find their way through a daunting dungeon.
Dungeons of Hinterberg includes 25, each focusing on combat, puzzles, or boss fights. There are over 20 enemy types and bosses, four distinct world locations, each with five to seven dungeons, ten unique locations to hang out in Hinterberg, and over 20 locals and residents you can get to know.
You’ll have to wait, though, as Dungeons of Hinterberg launches on Steam and Xbox in 2024.
