It wasn’t only PS5 exclusives being shown off at today’s State of Play! Funcom’s continuously growing Dune Awakening is coming to PlayStation 5 on September 22.
Originally debuting last June, Dune Awakening received mixed reviews but has since grown, with a strong focus on story and custom building.
The MMO set in the Dune universe features a large-scale, persistent world filled with social hubs where you’ll interact with other players, engage in politics, and more.
To set itself apart, Dune: Awakening is set in an alternate universe where the Fremen vanished, Paul Atreides was never born, and Duke Leto Atreides survived the Arrakis assault and is now fighting the Harkonnens over Arrakis and spice.
You play as a prisoner sent to Arakis to discover why the Fremen disappeared. You’ll rise from a prisoner to a trusted agent of the Atreides or Harkonnen.
