Dreamed Away

Retro-Inspired Dreamed Away Reaches Kickstarter Funding Goal

With stretch goals still possible

“Life is a mystery. Sometimes it feels like a dream.” These are the opening words from the trailer for indie developer’s Pineapple Works game Dreamed Away.

The title has recently reached its first Kickstarter milestone, reaching just over $29,000. With under ten days to go, the indie game is close to receiving some more updates and additional content.

Dreamed Away is also drawing some inspiration from classic heavy hitters in the gaming industry like The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, and more!

The charming, pixelated adventure takes Theo on a journey that challenges your perception of reality. The developers say the game will tackle deep subject matter and human emotions covering love, doubt, and fears, while exploring legends of the Celtic land of Brittany, France.

The main gameplay will be a fast-paced style filled with a variety of mini-games and a mix of turn-based strategy and unique quick time events. Some of this is shown off in the trailer above.

The Kickstarter campaign runs until February 29, 2024. Some of the exciting content that could be added before the month is out includes more enemies, an extended soundtrack, and three additional endings.

You can try Dreamed Away for free on Steam via this demo. After being funded the game is already scheduled to hit PC, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch in early 2025.
