Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero

Budokai Tenkaichi Successor Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero Debuts At The Game Awards

The New Entry Sparking! Zero Gets Debut Trailer

Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi returned to The Game Awards with a new entry in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero promises the return of the beloved fighting franchise. The last entry came out back in 2007. I loved this series growing up and am incredibly excited to see it return. The trailer shows fan favourites like Goku, Vegeta, Frieza, and Broly.

Bandai Namco says, “Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero takes the legendary gameplay of the Budokai Tenkaichi series and raises it to new levels. Learn and master an incredible roster of playable characters, each with signature abilities, transformations, and techniques. Take the fight to arenas that crumble and react to your power as the battle rages on. Shake the earth. Break the heavens. Make yours the destructive power of the strongest fighters ever to appear in Dragon Ball.”

“This is the Dragon Ball fighting game players have been waiting for, bringing a new sequel for one of the most beloved game series based on the franchise to a new generation of players,” said Mike Chang, VP, Marketing and Digital Business, Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. “It has been more than 15 years since Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi pioneered arena brawlers and Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero continues the legacy while adding new genre-defining features made possible only with the latest game platforms to deliver one of the most immersive anime game experiences of all time.”

No release window was given, but we know it’ll hit PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Steam.
