If a storybook adventure is in the cards for you this summer, look no further than Dordogne. Developers Un Je Ne Sais Quoi, Unmanimation put this game on people’s radars and wish lists last year and now it’s just over one month away.
Dordogne follows Mimi as she tries to “colour” her past with memories of her now late grandmother. In the trailer, you can see several beautiful locations illustrated by a vibrant and exciting landscape.
The game description reads:
As past meets present, confront your adult choices with fond childhood memories to uncover lost family secrets.
Explore Dordogne landscapes of a thousand summer colors, within sumptuous hand-painted watercolor environments.
And it’s not just the art style that could interest some gamers like me; the narration in the trailer alone gives me Beacon Pines vibes, which is a huge plus in my books!
Regarding gameplay, it primarily looks like a quiet and simplistic point-and-click adventure. Perfect for a beautifully cozy title like this. Whether arranging a scrapbook of memories, lighting a candle, or travelling down a river, Dordogne may be the perfect palette cleanser for some more giant, more intense AAA games in the next several months.
Dordogne releases June 13th for the PlayStation and Xbox platforms, Steam, and Nintendo Switch.
