Doom Eternal Next-Gen Upgrades Detailed, Is Available Now

Doom Eternal

Doom Eternal‘s next-gen upgrade is finally here and if you’ve been holding out on playing last year’s excellent follow-up to Doom, now is the best time to jump in.

While it was announced last year that Doom Eternal would receive a handful of upgrades on next-gen it wasn’t really detailed what that entailed. Today, we get our first look at what’s being offered to owners of the game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

  • Ray Tracing Mode running at 1800p/60 FPS
  • Performance Mode running at 1800p/120 FPS
  • Balanced Mode running at 4K/60 FPS

PlayStation 5

PC

Ray Tracing Mode: Availability and performance depends on a user’s PC hardware.

All of this is wonderful to see as someone who’s been waiting to dive back in to check out all the downloadable content I missed out on over the last several months. This is a free update to owners of the game and those who own it on Xbox can use Smart Delivery and dive in, PlayStation 5 owners will need to download the upgrade from the store to begin.
