Doom Eternal is officially not releasing in 2019 and is skipping ahead to March 2020. id Software revealed the delay earlier today via their Twitter and confirmed that polish was necessary in order to “live up to our standards of speed and polish.”

Also, a few changes are coming when Doom Eternal launches in March 2020. Invasion Mode, which allows you to invade another player’s game as a demon, will follow as a free update shortly after launch. The Switch Port will follow later with a release date announcement down the line, and finally, Doom 64 is coming to all platforms as a pre-order bonus.
