During today’s Nippon Ichi Software’s 30th anniversary stream, Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless was revealed.
The Disgaea series is basically synonymous with Nippon Ichi Software and has been one of the leading brands for the publisher. This year marks nearly twenty years for the series, which began with Disgaea: Hour of Darkness on the PS2.
So what better time to announce a new entry for the Disgaea series? The next title is set in the demonic realm of Hinomoto which is currently in a midst of change. The code of Bushido has been replaced with the Hinomoto Code of Destruction. Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless stars Fuji and Pirilika, two unlikely rivals who will fight against a tyrannical regime.
Disgaea 7 contains over 40 character classes, introducing four new additions: Maiko, Bandit, Zombie Maiden, and Big Eye.
The developer promises we’ll see the return of Auto-Battle, giving you the choice to return to cleared levels with ease, there will also be Online Ranked Battles, a first for the series where AI-driven ranked battles pit you against other players.
Players can expect Item Reincarnation, a mode similar to previous games where you can now reincarnate items. Hell Mode introduced a special Hell Gauge that fills up in battle and once filled up, boosts their stat and adds unique skills.
Sightseeing allows you to revisit regions of Hinomoto, giving you the chance to get to know the locals and recruit new companions. There’s also Jumbification, a mode that supersizes the team and boosts strength and damage output.
