After the Saints Row reboot announcement earlier this week, developer Volition has given us our first look at the world of Santo Ileso in a new trailer.
As mentioned previously, the upcoming game is set in Santo Ileso, a fictional city in the American Southwest.
Santo Ileso has nine unique districts to explore with the entire city being surrounded by the vast and beautiful desert. The developers have said that the new city is one of the biggest playgrounds they’ve made for a Saints Row game.
Inspiration for the new location was taken from Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Nevada.
During the initial announcement trailer, there was a distinct lack of gameplay which partially high amount of dislikes featured on the video.
However, this new Santo Ileso trailer does feature snippets of gameplay footage that does look like previous Saints Row games, albeit it’s pre-alpha since the game is still in development.
Santo Ileso seems like an interesting place to set the game in, as most other open-world action games are set in cities that are heavily inspired by real-life locations like New York, LA, London or San Francisco.
Saints Row will launch on February 25, 2022, on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 6, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
