Last year, Discord announced it had built a partnership with PlayStation, announcing the two were looking at new ways to implement the service on Sony’s network. Today, we’re beginning to see the rollout of that agreement and fans who use both Discord and PlayStation Network, can begin to connect their accounts.
“Starting today, we’re gradually rolling out the ability to link your PSN account from Discord and display your PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 game activity in your user profile!
If you’ve ever connected your Discord account to another service that allows you to display your activity, it works similarly here: once your Discord account is linked, the game you’re currently playing on either PS4 or PS5 will be shown as your activity, just like that!”
The blog post detailing the first step to connect your account is straightforward.
To connect your Discord account to your PlayStation Network account, open up Discord and head into User Settings > Connections on either desktop or web. On mobile, go to User Settings > Connections.
If you don’t see the PlayStation logo in that list below, the ability to connect the services is not yet available to you. I’d recommend checking back periodically.
Once that icon is available, you’ll be linked to the authorization window for PlayStation services. You’ll sign in and it will connect the two together!
Once you connect the services, you can have your PlayStation Network “Display on Profile” and “Display PlayStation Network as your status.” This will show your game activity on Discord. It should be noted your PSN Privacy Settings, your “PSN Online Status” and “Now Playing” visibility must be set to “Anyone” in order for your status to be visible on Discord.
