Discord Voice Chat Integration is Officially coming to Xbox

Rolling Out to Xbox Insiders Starting Today

Microsoft has announced that Discord voice chat integration is coming soon to Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S consoles, the feature is rolling out to Xbox Insiders starting today with a “wider release” to all Xbox users coming at a later point this year.

The update is set to make it easier for Xbox users to connect with other players across PC, console, and mobile. In a separate post, Discord noted that Xbox integration has been one of the highest requested features from its users. In addition, it has also confirmed that when using the Xbox mobile app users will be able to transfer their call on the desktop or mobile directly onto their consoles which means you can’t actually make calls on a console so have a mobile device ready to make a call and transfer it. This isn’t the first time Xbox users have been able to connect their Discord and Xbox accounts together but it was a much more limited way for display information to appear.

In order to use Discord voice chat on Xbox, go to “Parties & chats” after pressing the Xbox button on your home page and “Try Discord Voice on Xbox” will pop up to link both accounts. After clicking that, a QR button will pop up as a two-way link between your both accounts which can be scanned through Discord’s mobile app.

The news of the Xbox integration with the social and coice chat tool comes almost half a year after PS4 and PS5 owners were finally able to connect their PlayStation account to their Discord account to show only display information like what game a user is currently playing on console.
