At Blizzcon, Blizzard revealed the first expansion for Diablo 4, which is set to launch in late 2024.
Titled Vessel of Hatred, details are scarce at the moment, but we do know the expansion will take players to Nehantu, a new area that will have details around Prime Evil Mephisto and his plans for Sanctuary. Nehantu is an untameable jungle, and it has been some time since we’ve been there – more specifically, we last saw the area in Diablo 2.
The new expansion from Blizzard will add a new class, and several datamines from curious players may point to clues about what to expect. According to the same dataminers, the new class is supposedly called the Spiritborn and uses a glaive as a weapon. Of course, nothing is confirmed, so I’d take it with a grain of salt until Blizzard confirms more details.
In our review of Diablo 4, Dave said it is “..not only the natural progression of a nearly 30-year-old franchise. While it does modernize the classic dungeon-crawling loot grinder, it does so while making it accessible. Fans of the franchise will have so much to sink their teeth into. Beyond that, new fans will be welcomed by the best version of Blizzard’s demon-slaying franchise.’
