After Blizzard previously teased that they had a “secret” Diablo 4 announcement in store for the game’s most recent live-streamed event, well looks like we’re getting more Diablo 4 playtime before launch as Blizard Entertainment has announced it’s hosting one final open beta weekend they are calling “Diablo 4 Server Slam” on May 12th through the 14th as first reported by Polygon.
The news comes after the developer hosted two back-to-back closed and open beta weekends back in March for Diablo 4, but are giving fans one last taste this coming May. For those who did participate in the previously mentioned beta weekends, you’ll get a reward in the form of a wolf puppy backpack, but sadly progress from the other betas will not carry over.
Players anticipating its last chance will have access to the game’s five classes (rogue, barbarian, sorcerer, necromance, and druid) with up to level 20 of play as you’ll be exploring the first zone, Fractured Peaks, while experiencing the prologue and first act of the game’s story. Players who get far will face off with the world boss, Ashava, which will net you the “Cry of Ashava” Trophy if you defeat them.
The open beta starts on May 12th at 12 p.m. EDT and will include precisely two days (48 hours) later on May 14 at 12 p.m. EDT. Blizzard has revealed that feedback from the previous beta will be in this new upcoming beta, so look forward to the new changes Blizzard has applied to the game before release. Speaking of which, most notably, the beta kicks off the same days as the launch of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, so if you’re a fan of both, you may have to make a sacrifice to get your game on in Diablo 4.
Diablo 4 is set to launch on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One & Xbox Series X|S; until then, you can check our thoughts on what we played of Diablo 4 in our time in both betas.
