After teasing its community with some bad news to share, Devolver Digital announced it is delaying several games from 2023 into next year.
So what games are being delayed until 2024? Well, some really exciting ones! The delay includes The Plucky Squire, Stick it to the Stickman, Anger Foot, Pepper Grinder and Skate Story.
The Plucky Squire sees you play as Jot and follow along with his adventures. The storybook villain Humgrump becomes aware he’s the villain and decides to kick out Jot from the tale. This leads to our brave hero being ousted from the book and into the real world.
Stick it to the Stickman is described as a “groin-kicking, staple-gunning, chainsaw-wielding roguelike brawler,” where a physics-based battle system keeps things entertaining.
Anger Foot is pretty interesting because you’re essentially playing a first-person shooter, only kicking things simultaneously as shooting them.
Pepper Ginder is a 2D adventure game where you play as Pepper, a prospector with a powerful drill called Grinder. Shipwrecked and robbed of her treasure, Pepper uses Grinder to reclaim her treasure from the Narlings. You’ll burrow through terrain and water, control machines, and take on enemies.
Lastly, Skate Story is a game where you play as a demon in the Underworld, and the Devil gives you a skateboard to “Skate to the Moon and swallow it,” so you are freed.
With that, you can skate, ollie, kickflip, and grind through the Emptylands to take on this quest, where you learn to master your weight and motion to survive. You’ll save tortured souls, including a forgetful frog, to become a hardened skater.
