At The Game Awards, Hideo Kojima revealed what his next game is and it shouldn’t come as a surprise. Kojima Productions is working on Death Stranding 2 and was on stage tonight to reveal the project to the world.
Serving as a direct sequel to Death Stranding, Norman Reedus returns as Sam Bridges albeit a lot older than before. Léa Seydoux returns as Fragile and is joined by Elle Fanning and Shioli Kutsuna.
Kojima said that because of Covid-19, he rewrote the entire script as it impacted the narrative he had set up prior to the virus causing a global pandemic.
“I had the story written before the pandemic, but after experiencing the pandemic, I rewrote the whole thing from scratch,” he told Keighley at The Game Awards. “I also didn’t want to predict any more future, so I rewrote it.”
Right now, Death Stranding 2 serves as a working title, so it may likely change as development continues.
