Electronic Arts may be looking to revive the Dead Space IP, according to Jeff Grubb, which was mentioned during a recent livestream.
Set to be show during this year’s EA Play Live, Grubb teased that EA’s Motive Studio would be working on an established IP,” and that it is one that would make many happy.
This blog post on EA’s website from Patrick Klaus, the GM at Motive has also hinted at what the studio is working on.
“In addition to Star Wars: Squadrons, we’re also working on several unannounced projects. Innovation is tough, but it’s also exciting and energizing.
Originally launching in 2008, the Dead Space trilogy has lied dormant since the third entry released in 2012. There was a spin-off on the Nintendo Wii called Dead Space Extraction and a mobile game on iOS.
Gematsu also confirms that the revival is not a sequel but a “reimaging of the series,” and we’ll learn more in a few short weeks on July 22, 2021.
