Dead Space Remake

Dead Space Remake Live Stream Focuses On Art Design This Week

EA is hosting another developer livestream for the upcoming Dead Space Remake this week and it’ll premiere later this week on May 12 at 1 PM ET on Twitch and YouTube.

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from the team at EA Motive but we’re likely to begin seeing studios opening themselves up to showcasing their projects as we head to what would normally be E3 season. This year, Summer Games Fest will be available to stream at home or at IMAX theatres around the US and Canada.

The latest episode is called Crafting the Tension and will feature art director Mike Yazijian as he and his team cover the lighting, the environments, the characters, and the visual effects. The brief tweet mentions that it’ll be a “deep dive into various aspects of the upcoming game’s art design”.

In March, we learned the team at EA Motive is targeting a release date and that the remake will feature quality of life improvements while also expanding on Isaac Clarke’s role by adding voiced dialogue (in the original there Isaac was a silent protagonist).

Furthermore, Dead Space Remake is being fully rebuilt in the Frostbite Engine. “With all-new assets, new character models, new environments–even though we’re basing those on the original designs. There are new parts, new props, new collision models, and so on. We’re rebuilding everything from scratch, but we’re keeping the same story and the same structure.”
