Officially revealed at today’s THQ Nordic Showcase, Darksiders 4 was finally revealed after being teased last year.
While the teaser was brief, it showed all four Horsemen coming together to stop the impending apocalypse and continued from where Darksiders left off. Details are scarce, but Darksiders 4 will continue as a third-person action game instead of the top-down isometric view used in Darksiders Genesis.
It seems, though, that this time players can choose which of the Horsemen they wish to use, each featuring a unique playstyle.
“Experience fast-paced, visceral action blending melee, fluid traversal, and supernatural abilities.
Journey through apocalyptic landscapes – each teeming with secrets, enemies, and mythic bosses,” says the official press release.
If you had asked me 15 years ago whether we’d still be playing Darksiders games, I would have likely said no. I all but expected the franchise to vanish after THQ’s closure and the release gap between the second and third games.
Instead, we’re talking about the Endgame moment the series has built towards, which feels earned if you’ve followed the journey along all these years.
Darksiders 4 is in development now for Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and PC.
